This work expresses the impact that humans use and request for plants will have on the future society. And I want to make a guess about the development of plants in the future, how our desire will have more influence on plants in the future.
In this work, the main body is these three paintings. As a symbol of all beautiful things, flowers are also the reproductive organs of flowering plants. I combine the male and female genitalia with each flower as a symbol of our human desires.
And in the background part of the three paintings, I built a transparent flower model, which is also a kind of conjecture of my future plants. In the future, due to resource shortage and environmental destruction, we may not care about the objective materiality of plants, but impose plants as a symbol in social life. In fact, the plastic decorative flowers that we can see everywhere in the current society are a good example.
Finally, I combined these two parts to make a video. I used the form of malfunction art to process the three paintings of the subject, the purpose is to express the concept of post-humanity. What are the consequences of mankind’s admiration and fear of artificial intelligence while destroying and requesting nature at the same time?
